Yay! No Rain

In the morning we made shakers
so we could cheer on our Year 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8
brothers, sisters and friends.

Balancing Scales

We wondered how heavy these popcorn kernels were.
Which is heavier, these popcorn kernels or a glass marble?
We poured the kernels onto one side of the scales.

 Look what happened.
We guessed how many glass marbles we would have to use to balance the scales.
We put all of our guesses into counting order.
Kobi kept a tally while we added marbles one at a time.
Yay! Finally the two sides matched.
When they weighed the same, the scales balanced.
Guess how many glass marbles we used?
Hint...

Cross country shakers

We are feeling healthy, happy, joyful, great, strong and nervous.

Ready to run!

The Little Red Hen

Is this version the same as our Big Book?

Rata Hui

We had a Rata Hui to hand out certificates to people who were awesome at managing their time.
They worked nicely with different friends to complete an activity.
Some people completed three!

Check out the cool song we sang on our 'songs' page.

Measuring Maths

Measuring Fun on PhotoPeach

M.O.O.T.

M.O.O.T. on PhotoPeach
We are great at managing our own time.
We completed lots of activities today.
We did another experiment with bread.
Have you ever painted bread with coloured milk
and then toasted it?
It looks and tastes great!
Just like the Little Red Hen,  we planted alfalfa seeds today.
We hope they sprout!
Some of us made puppets so we could act out 'The Little Red Hen.'
Today we made a pinch pot and a coil pot.
Look at our great sculpting.

We solved a maths problem...

We highlighted the important information.
We worked out what we had to find out.
We knew what to do.
We chose a partner to work with.
We used equipment to help us.
We put buttons on the cats.
Each cat needed 4 buttons.
We counted all the buttons we had used.
We got 16 buttons.
We know Pete's mum needs to buy 16 buttons for her 4 little cats.
Cameron, what if the little cats need 5 buttons each for their jackets?
Mum cat will need 20 buttons.
Great counting in 5's!
