Matilda's Crystals

Matilda has made these beautiful crystals.
She told us all about it.
We think they are...
Beautiful
Shiny
Cold
Solid
Colourful
Kind of like diamonds
Sparkly.
We watched the video that showed Matilda how to make her crystals.
Thank you for sharing it with us.

M.O.O.T

Justin, Charlie and Mrs. Dacre made a barn for the Little Red Hen.
MacKenzie, Heidi, Chetana and Miss G worked out how to make a windmill.
The Little Red Hen took the wheat to the windmill to turn into flour.
This big farm has a great roof. It fell in but we fixed it.
We are animal doctors.

The World Cup

Mr. Tricker is telling us about the World Cup.
A lot of people are wearing black.
1987 was the first time we won the World Cup. We won in 1911 and 1915 too. We are the only country who have won it three times.
Well done Ritchie MaCaw!

Guess my number.

We are using a number line and pegs to guess the number.
We use the words before and after to work it out.

Welcome Back to School for Term Two

We are excited to have four new faces in Rata Rua.
A big welcome to Amelie, Jenna, Cody and Emily.
That's right, we have two lovely girls called Emily in our class now.
We practiced a special way of sharing our ideas. It is called 'Turn and Talk.'
We shared ideas with our partner on the best place to take a new class photo for our blog.
We had lots of ideas.
After we had voted for our favourite suggestion, we had 15 tally marks on the whiteboard.
The rainbow was our favourite place but...

we didn't get a very good photo.
We will have to try again.

On our way back to the classroom, we took this photo to show how much our garden plants have grown.

Have a Safe and Happy Term Holiday and Anzac Day

We made poppies during art.

Number Stories

We told our own number story about taking something away.
We used equipment to show how we solved our number story.
Cameron used counters on a number line.
Kobi counted back on the hundred's board.
Emily used counters and two tens frames.

Matilda is making the number 12.
What awesome bugs...
