Silent magic 'e.'
Today at writing time some of us used the word mak in our story.
We found out that it is spelt 'make.'
The magic e on the end changes the sound.
Not Annie Apple but Mr. A.

A Sun, Earth and Moon song to sing to 'The Farmer in the Dell'.
Sun,
Earth and Moon
The earth turns around.
The earth turns around.
Once a day, every day,
The earth turns around.
The moon goes round the
earth,
The moon goes round the
earth.
Once a month, every month,
The moon goes round the
earth.
The earth goes round the
sun.
The earth goes round the
sun.
Once a year, every year,
The earth goes round the
sun.

There it is!
Guess what? It was such a clear morning on Wednesday that we all saw 'te marama.'
The moon was a crescent shape!
And on Friday morning 'te marama' can be seen again.
Can we see more or less of te marama each day?
Why do we see some of the moon and not all of it?

We are observing (looking at) the moon in May.
Sometimes at night it has been too cloudy to see the moon.
Some of us have seen it in the morning.
Mrs. Dacre took these photos of the moon on her phone.

We are gathering data about the moon.
We are looking at the moon each night and drawing what we see.
We wonder what we will find out about the moon in this month of May.
Gymnastic Tuesdays
On Tuesday we had our first gym session in the hall.
We took off our shoes and were ready to go.
We learnt how to do a 'motorbike' landing.
We were great trying out all the different equipment.
Congratulations Alex- the gymnast of the day.
