Te Reo Maori

We learned a fun game today.
Tylah is pretending to be a 'ngeru pēpe.'
"Meow, meow, meow"
Mr. Kairua has to say "Poor kitty," without smiling.
If he laughs Mr. Kairua is the new kitten.

Kei hea te pene rakau?
Where is the pencil?
Kei konā. (by you)
Kei korā. (over there)
Kei konei. (here, I've got it)
Kaore mohio. (I don't know)

Well done everyone and especially Adrean and Evie.

Sunscreen

We are cutting out paper people to use in an experiment.
What do you think will happen?

What happened to the bread people who had been sitting in the sun?
They were hard.
They were crispy.
They were crusty.
What happened to the bread people in the lunch box, out of the sun?
They smelled yummy.
They were fresh.
They were still soft.

Bread People

We have just cut 4 people out of bread.
We will put 2 in a lunch box out of the sun.
We will put 2 in the sun.

The Very....

Thank you.

Mrs. C. is showing us some swan plants.
We planted them into bigger pots so they could grow.
Kobi and Cameron told us that caterpillars eat swan plants.
Then they turn into a chrysalis.
Then they change and grow and turn into a Monarch butterfly.

Thursday 11 February 2016

We wonder what Tylah and Emily discovered this afternoon?

We saw worms and dirt.
We didn't want to touch it.
It is making compost to put on the garden to help plants grow.
