Dotty Art
We are creating an artwork for a 2017 calendar today.
Yayoi Kusama is an artist from Japan who loves to use dots in her art.
My Visionary Life (2013)
Japanese Ochiba Fallen Leaves
Butterfly (1998)
Sometimes she gets people to put dots on a room to create an unique work of art.You can join the fun by clicking on the link below:
We are going to use dots to create a pattern on top of our painted drawings.
We hope you will like them.

You are an Olympic runner.
You are standing at the starting blocks beside the worlds top runners.
How are you feeling?
What are you thinking?
Bang!
You are off.
What is your body doing and feeling?
Your legs are....
Your arms are....
Your breath is...
Suddenly...
you fall over.
What happens?
Do you finish the race?
Does anyone help you?
"And suddenly there's this hand on my shoulder, like 'get up, get up, we have to finish this!'
"I'm so grateful for Abbey for doing that for me. That girl is the Olympic spirit right there.

One straw for each day at school...
Our super star of the day put a straw in the one's pocket.
It made a group of 10 so she made a bundle and put it in the ten's pocket.
What-ten bundles? Can't have any more than 9 bundles in the tens pocket so...
Yay! That means we put them together to make one hundred.
1hundred belongs in the 100's pocket.
How many straws?
Where would this number go on the 100's mat? What helped you work it out?
