The wind blew in Rata this afternoon...
paper, leaves and seed pods went round and round.
Dirt, beautiful dirt...
I'm a worm. I dive and slide.
I make beautiful dirt!
"Plant that seed and watch it grow," said worm.
Drip, drop...
and bright and yellow sun.
Tick, tock...tick, tock...
The tree grows and the flowers bloom.
Guess who finds the nectar?
And does a poi dance!
The bees couldn't drink the nectar. I wonder why?
Ruru enjoys this season as he hunts for the...
mice who are eating the seedpods.
We found out lots about the life cycle of the little Kowhai tree.
Thank you Little Dog Barking Company.

M.O.O.T. fun...

Making our own battery. on PhotoPeach

Thank you so much Mr. Mason for bringing all the things we needed and teaching us how to make our own battery. It was awesome.

Dotty Art

We are creating an artwork for a 2017 calendar today.
Yayoi Kusama is an artist from Japan who loves to use dots in her art.
My Visionary Life (2013)
Japanese Ochiba Fallen Leaves
Butterfly (1998)
Sometimes she gets people to put dots on a room to create an unique work of art.
You can join the fun by clicking on the link below:

We are going to use dots to create a pattern on top of our painted drawings.
We hope you will like them.

Fair Play in Rio

http://www.newshub.co.nz/sport/nikki-hamblin-through-to-5000m-final-despite-fall-2016081701

You are an Olympic runner.
You are standing at the starting blocks beside the worlds top runners.
How are you feeling?
What are you thinking?

Bang!
You are off.
What is your body doing and feeling?
Your legs are....
Your arms are....
Your breath is...

Suddenly...
you fall over.
What happens?
Do you finish the race?
Does anyone help you?

"And suddenly there's this hand on my shoulder, like 'get up, get up, we have to finish this!'
"I'm so grateful for Abbey for doing that for me. That girl is the Olympic spirit right there.
